Pipe Flashing Selection Guide

Standard Flashing

Generally acceptable for composition or shingle roofs unless pitch of roof, roofing material or shingle exposure is unusual.  Always check your codes before proceeding.

FHA Flashing

FHA Standards require the FHA Flashing shown above.

All pipes have a common inner dimension.

Conductor Flashing  Single wall pipe in which the true outside diameter of the pipe is the exact size as the flashing’s top opening (Example 4″).

Soil Flashing  Single wall pipe where the inner diameter is the same as the conductor but the wall thickness is 3/8 of an inch larger (Example 4⅜”).

Double Wall Flashing  A pipe which has two walls of metal separated by an air gap and where the outside diameter is 1/2 inch larger.  The inner diameter is the same as the conductor and the soil (Example 4½”).

Transite Flashing  Single wall pipe where the inner diameter of the pipe is the same as a Conductor, Soil, and Double Wall, but the outer diameter is 7/8 inch larger (Example 4⅞”).

Steep pitch flashings available upon request.
